Job Title: Security Supervisor 1
General Description: Supervises a team of security officers that are responsible for monitoring company grounds to prevent theft, violence, or other loss of company property. Provides first level supervision (usually supervises less than 25 positions) and may perform full security officer job functions including active patrols, situation de-escalation, apprehension, guarding facility entrances or specific locations, escorting patrons, escorting and monitoring drop team and money carts, preparing reports and some administrative functions including, filing, sorting, organizing, phone calls, data entry and report tracking.
Supervision Received: Security Supervisor 2 or above
Supervision Exercised: Security Officers
Essential Job Functions:
§ Follows all departmental, divisional and site-specific policies and procedures
§ Prepare schedules, work assignment, work oversight, resolve employee concerns, provide performance feedback and site-specific training. May prepare performance reviews and for Security Officers
§ Ensures all Security Officer credentials are current. Ensures ongoing development of Security Officers
§ Executes internal and external patrols of assigned areas and locations
§ Engages in and de-escalates contentious situations with visitors, patrons, patients, employees
§ Monitors and ensures the safety of guests, employees and tribal assets based on assigned duty station: examples include:
o Various patrols inside and/or outside the facility
o Guarding facility entrances – controlling access and alarming others as necessary
o Escorting patrons
o Escorting/monitoring drop team and money carts
§ Follows guidelines to protect guests and employees in emergency situations such as inclement weather, fire, active shooter, etc.
§ Monitors and maintains control of facility access points and permitted areas of entry and
§ Prepares reports based upon observations, information and occurrences to ensure compliance with departmental standard operating procedures.
§ Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters
§ May be required to monitor the opening and closing of machines for routine repairs and maintenance to ensure the integrity of the machine is maintained
§ Interpreting and enforcing established guidelines in conjunction with operations in order to protect the assets of the Chickasaw Nation
§ Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered. CLEET phase I and II are not optional
Education:
§ High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Must be able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies
§ Must be able to work various hours as needed, including weekends and holidays
§ Must be able to operate a hand-held radio and must be able to learn Security radio codes
§ Must be able to understand and apply oral or written instructions
§ Must be able to prepare hand written, legible reports, and type written reports in a clear concise language based upon facility needs
§ Must be able to define problems, collect data, and establish facts
§ Have good communication skills and work successfully in a team environment
§ Basic computer and typewriting skills necessary, to include basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
§ Must be able to sit at a desk/computer for at least one (1) continuous hour at a time
§ Must be 21 years of age to carry firearm and/or taser; may be required to carry firearm and/or taser
Experience and Training:
§ 2 years Security Officer 2 experience and require Chickasaw Nation internal security supervisor training required
§ Must complete all Security Division and site-specific training for Security Officer 1-2 and Security Supervisor 1, including TASER, advanced incident training, counterfeits, law enforcement assistance and much more
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
§ Have and maintain currency of CLEET phases I and II
§ Have and maintain currency of CLEET phase IV preferred
§ Valid driver’s license required for some duty stations
§ Pass a background check and receive a gaming license from the Chickasaw Nation Office of the Gaming Commission as required to work in gamingoperations
- Complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
Physical Requirements:
§ Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
§ May be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs based on facility needs
§ May be required to patrol on foot, bicycle or automobile
Work Environment:
Work locations may be casinos, hospitals, office buildings, remote facilities and may require exposure to noise, bright and flashing lights, second-hand smoke, all weather conditions, air and blood-borne pathogens, sterile clinical areas or normal business office environments for extended periods depending on the specific position assigned.
