We are currently recruiting for a Recreational Vehicle Appraiser for our Specialty Appraisal Team. The position would based out of a home office. As Aviva offices are located in Markham and Oakville it is preferred the successful candidate resides within driving distance to attend infrequent meetings or staff calibration sessions.
This individual will be responsible for reviewing estimates submitted by RV/Powersport dealers and repair facilities and appraisals completed by our Independent Appraiser Network across Ontario and Western Canada. They will be required to transpose or create estimates based off submitted photographs and invoices into our computerized estimating system on travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes. The person in this role will also be responsible to control repair costs based off industry standards and consistently deliver on production targets and service level agreements.

What you’ll do:

Establishes a customer first culture, actively coaching vendors in delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Keep management informed of all changes in industry trends, changing repair methods and anti-fraud referrals.

Review all claims transactions for accuracy and provide authority within designated limits.

Ability to calculate and quantify accurate values on total loss units and be able to identify value differences for optional manufacturer equipment.

Differentiate between claimable damages and manufacturer defects/ wear and tear

Responsible for building team’s skill, capability and development through calibration and job shadowing to share knowledge and experience in a team environment.

Effectively takes responsibility and delivers on expectations with claims escalation matters and ensures they and the team provides prompt, proactive and efficient customer service.

Meet National Appraisal performance expectations that are set on an individual and team basis and contributes to the overall team success.

The position may offer the opportunity to travel depending on willingness and availability.
What you’ll bring:
-
5 years of relevant RV repair industry experience, including hands on and estimating.

Preferred experience in Mitchell estimating software or equivalent platform
-
Strong understanding of Spader flat rate labor times

Familiar with Microsoft office programs. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams

RV technician license preferred but not required

Brings with them a network of respected industry contacts

Ability to gain insight from data to improve performance and identify areas of opportunity

Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
-
Can articulate proper diagnosis methods and manufacturer recommended repair procedures.

Prior experience in RV dealer service/repair management and /or powersports equipment would be an asset
