Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque’s mission is to deliver healthy meals and friendship – neighbor to neighbor. We seek a Volunteer Associate with a deep capacity to serve others, while ensuring volunteer roles are fulfilled and meals are delivered in a timely manner.

We require:

• Minimum of one (1) year office experience
• A deep belief in our values of Compassion, Reliability, Service, and Teamwork
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• The following items are essential for success in this position:
  • Advanced computer literacy, including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet functionalities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient use of time to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Highly accurate, quality work

Accountabilities include:

• Assist with the daily volunteer operations of meal delivery
  • Coordinate and manage scheduling of all MOW volunteers (drivers, site coordinators, office/administrative, and other positions as needed) via the online volunteer management system
  • Help ensure all volunteer positions are filled and all meals are delivered form all drop-off sites each day
  • Help ensure volunteer site operations run smoothly
  • Assist with volunteer reward program
  • Assist in assessing and optimizing routes using ServTracker and other software
  • Assist with volunteer trainings
  • Fill in for missing volunteers, as needed
• Help ensure all reporting and requirements for the RSVP volunteers working in the MOW program are submitted to the RSVP office each month
• Answers phone inquiries related to Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque
• Work with Client Services Coordinator and Client Services Associate to ensure proper communication between volunteers and clients
• May require driving meals to clients using own vehicle (mileage reimbursements provided)

Why we exist…

Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation founded in 1972. We are the only home delivered meal program in our area preparing special diets for a variety of needs, including diabetes, renal failure, heart issues, chewing and swallowing problems, etc. We provide our services to anyone of any age. There are no restrictions for age or disability. We currently have clients in their 20s to our oldest client who just celebrated her 109th birthday. We can provide meals for any duration whether they are needed during a period of recuperation or for many years.
