Job Summary


This position involves the provision of administrative support to students, faculty, Program Directors, and the Computer Information Systems Department Chair. This in-person position will take place at the Mesa Community College Southern and Dobson campus, with occasional travel to the Mesa Community College Downtown Center campus, as needed. This part-time position consists of a 24.5 hour weekly schedule, and may involve remote working conditions.


Essential Functions

  • Provides intermediate administrative support to students, faculty, Program Directors, and CIS Department Chair
  • Provides administrative support to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics and Programming degree
  • Prepares communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence
  • Provides courteous customer service over the phone, in person, and virtually
  • Ability to maintain professionalism including punctuality and reliability
  • Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and the ability to prioritize
  • Event preparation, setup, and attendance as needed
  • Developing promotional material for the CIS department
  • Notify students of course changes, cancellations, and submitting Change of Masters (COMs)
  • Access to the following systems:
    • ERS: Involves SR105 management and report scheduling
    • Student Information Systems (SIS): Enrollment assistance
    • 25Live: Classroom occupancy and room scheduling
    • Dropout Detective (DoD): Student retention
  • Organize folders for rapid retrieval within Google Drive

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or equivalent (at least 50 credits completed at an accredited institution)
  • Knowledge of standard office practices, policies, procedures, and equipment
  • Software experience including Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications such as Gmail, Google Doc, Google Slides, Google Sheet, etc.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with online programs, internet applications and email platforms
  • Full or part-time employment experience in customer service (at least 2 consecutive years)
  • Ability to display professionalism including punctuality and reliability
  • Experience following written and oral directions
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with Canvas and other Maricopa Community Colleges platforms
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple office departments on campus
  • Experience following written and oral directions
  • Ability to maintain professionalism including punctuality and reliability
  • Willing to learn new tools and programs
  • Willing to work morning, afternoon and/or evening hours, possibly Saturdays

Special Working Conditions

  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
