Provides primary and secondary assistance as well as active participation for and with the main surgeon in a procedure.
Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures)
- Provide primary and secondary assistance during surgical procedures. This includes but is not limited to providing hemostasis, tying sutures, providing retraction, suturing utilizing simple running stitch, mattress and running subcutucular stitches, and use of hemostatic instruments. 55%
- Assist draping, prepping, and positioning of patients for surgical procedures. 25%
- Assist with set-up of operating room and equipment when indicated. 10%
- Assist with transport of surgical patients to and from the operating room. 10%
