Staff Accountant Job at Sweet Dried Fruit Inc
We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in the Austin, TX area. You will be assisting in the daily and monthly accounting tasks, including, but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations. This position reports to the Director of Accounting & Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information (A/R, A/P, GL)
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports
- Assist with auditor’s requests
- Identify areas for improvement
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily bank reconciliation and email
- Prepare documentation for wire transfers, ACH’s and checks, and pay in QuickBooks
- Receive and deposit in QuickBooks payments received via check, wire transfer, ACH
- Calculate broker commissions and pay them in QuickBooks
- Review broker commission request and prepare for approval
- Prepare vendor credit notes
- Review and book credit card expenses
- Enter bills and pay them in QuickBooks
- Prepare foreign sales invoices
- Book expense accruals
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Provide support during yearly audits
- Prepare monthly banks reconciliations
- Any other tasks required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 2 to 4 years of experience in the field
- Knowledge of QuickBooks (preferred) and/or other accounting packages
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Intermediate to advance skills of Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in Spanish
- Ability to work independently in a virtual environment
- Detail-oriented

Pay: $54,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
