Staff Accountant

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team as well as the organization. The Staff Accountant will fulfill all general accounting duties including payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts, and month end reconciliations. He/she will serve as a backup to the Controller and Accounts Payable Specialist in their absence. The Staff Accountant will contribute to the continuous improvement of the department and will communicate problems or concerns regarding the Accounting Department to the Controller.

General Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries.
• Maintain general ledger chart of accounts and reviews for accuracy.
• Performs various account analysis and reconciliations including bank reconciliation.
• Prepares and posts monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals.
• Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll.
• Assists with month-end closing processes and field work for financial audit including petty cash audits.
• Performs various complex account analysis and reconciliation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience required.
• Experience with FastFund, Sage, and/or EPIC a plus.
• Windows-based computer experience with strong Excel skills required.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

• accounting: 5 years (Required)
