ChampionX, has an immediate need for a Senior Chemist in our Production Chemical Technologies – Research, Development and Engineering (RDE) Production Maximization Group located in Sugar Land, Texas. The Senior Chemist will support new product development related to oilfield phase separation and flow improvement, formulation of new experimental products, field evaluation at customer sites, new product introduction, manufacturing and supply chain support, customer-facing technical support and manage the entire life cycle of the Oilfield Chemicals emulsion breaker, reverse emulsion breaker and flow improver product lines.

What You Will Do:
Perform work in a safe manner while identifying opportunities for improving safety
Support entire product life cycle for phase separation products, including both laboratory and field technical support
Support development of new emulsion breaker, reverse emulsion breaker and flow improver products via formulation and field testing at customer sites
Work with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain to deploy regional preferred product lines
Communicate technical recommendations or test results to a wide range of audiences
Work effectively in a team environment with cross-functional members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related science or engineering (chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or material science) discipline and 2-5 years of industrial experience
Master’s degree in related science or engineering discipline and 1-3 years of industrial experience
Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in oil field chemicals or in chemical manufacturing
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
Detail orientated and excellent time management skills.
