POSITION SUMMARY:
The diagnostic Sonographer is a skilled person qualified by academic and clinical training to provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. The Sonographer may be involved with the patients of the physicians in any medical setting of which the physician is responsible.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Graduated from AMA accredited school/program or by completing one of the acceptable pathways recognized by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
RVT required within 6 months of hire
RDMS certification in Abdomen, Breast, MSK, or OB/GYN preferred within 6 months of hire
BCLS-AHA Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
Three years experience or training in diagnostic ultrasound in at least two specialty areas: abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK, breast
Extensive experience with available Ultrasound equipment in terms of product evolution, trouble shooting and quality control
