Citi is looking to hire an experienced Solutions Architect. We are flexible on their location assuming it is within our existing sites in Mississauga, New York, London, and Warsaw. This is a Senior Vice President role within the Financial Risk Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of strong business and strong technical skills. The focus for this role will be to bridge the gap between the many products within the XiP platform and our client’s requirements. The role will also be responsible for L3 support for any of our client’s technical problems and to deliver information back to clients around the prioritization of any new requests for functionality. The clients of XiP will mainly be other technology organizations at Citi but there will also be some direct support of business teams like Quant Analysts.
Financial Risk Technology is involved in delivering solutions across all Markets businesses including the central business teams which leverage this data across Risk Management and Finance. Our goal is to build a strong culture of engineering and delivery where we put the business first while achieving all their complex goals of consistency, performance, efficiency, and transparency that a bank of the magnitude of Citi needs. This team will be the main point of contact for XiP clients when the question is beyond L1 and L2 support. The team will also provide L3 and be the last line of support (after Production Support). The makeup of this team will be engineers, business analysts, and a portfolio manager who combined can handle technical problems and planning for new requirements, while leveraging their deep technical, business, and planning knowledge. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands on direct exposure to all of the components within XiP working closely with the users as they face any new challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and strategic direction to the Business Analysts and Engineers focused on client’s technical problems and any new requirements
- Single point of contact for stakeholder solution development in XiP
- Creating solution prototype and design proposal
- Analyze technology environment
- Analyze requirements
- Defining collaboration network
- Contribute to technology decision making
- Delivering instructions for the resolution of L3 issues
- Managing relationships with various technology and business stakeholders
- Working closely with L1 and L2 support when these issues are handed off as requiring L3 support
- Partnering with the platform engineering team who are responsible for all the respective DevOps aspects of our solutions
- Ability to be hands on as a Business Analyst and Engineer depending on the challenge
- Ensuring the team has a working project management and Governance process as well as defining high level functional and technical specifications for new project requests.
- Improving development processes: Includes testing deliverables and reviewing Controls
- Developing Talent: Mentoring and coaching junior members of the wider team
Essential Experience/Skills
- More than 10 years experiences in a financial services firm
- Prior development leadership experience is preferred
- Engineering or Mathematics background is preferred
- Experience in distributed in-memory database delivering performant solutions for a Markets business
- Experience in distributed storage in processing of big data while delivering solutions for a Markets business
- Python and/or Java experience delivering quantitative technology solutions for a Markets business
- Experience in RESTful APIs which will be the main point of access for XiP clients
- Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with business stakeholders and front office technology teams
- Proven ability to conduct research/analysis, organize findings and build plans
- Knowledge of financial markets and Risk management
- Experience of working with virtual teams will be preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters is preferred.
