POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Oversee and keep records of all shipping practices. Handle routine questions and problems and maintain open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant standing.

• Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs.

• Frequent walking, balancing, push/pulling, reaching and lifting up to 60 lbs.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible)

• One plus years’ experience in shipping or warehouse environment.

• Proven ability to self-direct workload.

• Basic oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work well with other employees.

• Basic problem-solving skills.

• Basic math skills and understanding of shop mathematics.

• Basic reading skills.

• Proficient in basic computer skills.

• Customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong mathematical skills.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and work with numbers to a high degree of accuracy.

• Proficiency in the use of computers for data entry and inquiry.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Coordinate shipping activities.

• Ensure proper paperwork for each shipment is completed in a timely manner.

• Maintain records on outgoing shipments.

• Operate forklift to move products to prepare for shipping.

• Maintain materials and supplies.

• Create and distribute packing lists.

• Provide leadership and coaching to other Shipping employees.

• Work with Shipping department to maintain an organized and clean work area.

• Ensure shipments are made in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.

• Systematically receive all incoming material (data entry).

• Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.

• Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.50 per hour
