Server/Kitchen Assistant Job at The Kitchen at Middleground Farms
The Kitchen at Middle Ground Farm is a community oriented farm, education center and kitchen serving the greater Portland Metro Area. Located in Wilsonville, Oregon, we strive to offer the public the means to connect more deeply with their food, where it comes from, how it is prepared and how it is shared among family and friends.We are seeking a kitchen assistant/ banquet server to work with the kitchen team at the farm. The kitchen serves as the hub of all our organization. We host private events, classes and produce a number of items for sale to the general public.
- Provides guests with background information on our wines, garden, history and upcoming events.
- Perform opening and closing duties & procedures (table set up, glass polishing, table maintenance…)
- Handle routine purchasing transactions in our POS system
- Assist teammates
- Assist with private events.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to work well with team members and take instruction in stride.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and some private events.
- Ability to be on your feet most days for the majority of the day.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Valid driver’s license, OLCC Server permit, Food Handlers.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- WSET Certified/ Sommelier Certification a plus but not necessary
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour

- Weekend availability
