Recreation Assistant (Part-Time) Job at City of Dania Beach
This is an exciting opportunity in the Parks & Recreation Department monitoring a recreation facility or other municipal recreation activities or in coordinating and leading various segments of municipal recreation programs and services. The incumbent within this classification serves chiefly as leaders at assigned municipal recreation facilities or assigned recreation program and work in accordance with established guidelines, policies, procedures and instructions. They also provide leadership in recreational and educational activities and programs. Work assignments could vary daily with seasons and other needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monitors a recreation facility and activities during assigned hours
- Plans and conducts activities, organizes and supervises programs, games, maintains order and discipline
- Maintains involvement in various phases of a variety of municipal recreation activities including: environmental education, social, athletic, arts, special events and other recreational programs and services
- Monitors participants’ actions and activities to ensure adherence to standard and established safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and operating requirements
Qualifications
What's required: * (Minimum Requirements)*
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday from 1:30 pm - 6:30 p.m., including nights and weekends, as needed
Regular part-time positions qualify for deferred compensation with a City contribution, sick and vacation time and holiday pay. Eligible employees will be an active member of the Florida Retirement System, that includes 2 pension options.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $31,283.20 - $46,924.80 per year
