Overview
USU Blanding is seeking applicants for a Program Assistant III to support the NASNTI (Native Americans Servicing Non-Tribal Institutions) II Grant. Incumbents in the Program Assistant series perform a combination of program-related and/or administrative functions that support community, social, instructional, and/or research programs; and/or coordinate people, events, or facilities.

This is a grant-funded position contingent on funding.


Responsibilities

• Work closely with the NASNTI director in coordinating the project's compliance in meeting grant-stated goals and objectives in a timely manner.
• Become a source of encouragement and support to students at risk of academic failure, as identified in the Student-Centered Platform.
• Work with the NASNTI director to identify resources to help with students' personal development and career growth.
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, and capacity to create and maintain budgeting spreadsheets.
• Ensures all grant-related transactions are posted accurately and on a timely basis into the accounting system.
• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for the Annual Performance Report (APR) evaluation.
• Keeps the Student-Centered Platform up to date by pulling reports, performing digital communication, and transferring files.
• Organizes and maintains electronic and paper files of grant documents and activities' reports according to NASNTI grant indicators and goals.
• Keep events calendars, spreadsheet data, templates, and updated forms.
• Grant funded position contingent on funding.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Four years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with Native American students or communities.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including program development and management.
• Demonstrated experience with community engagement and outreach, and mobilization.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using computer programs and other technology/social networking as positive community outreach and awareness tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Conversant in Navajo Language preferred but not required.
• Experience in the educational field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Successful experience in positions that require strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
