Merchandiser-Local Representative

Role Overview

We are looking for an energetic individual experienced in the retail sector and with a fresh produce background to join our talented team. The position is an exciting opportunity to be the catalyst that drives growth, change and support in a dedicated retail account. The role will be remote (home office) with notable travel targeted between market locations in the Kansas City market.

Responsibilities

- Build productive relationships with produce managers, buyers and sourcing managers

- Support the development of impact driven category plans as per strategy

- Develop and engage advance promotional planning consistent with account needs

- Monitor account budget and goal performance

- Embrace innovation and identify growth opportunities

- Coordinate program presentations and participate in account meetings

- Support an effective on-going communication flow to drive plan execution

- Provide support for in-store display merchandising compliant to schematics

- Engage special projects, education and other account events

- Identify best in market initiatives, products and operators

- Visit warehouses, growers and identify new suppliers

Qualifications and Skills

- 3+ years in a retail-based role and or merchandising

- Produce background preferred but not required to be considered

- Self-motivated team player with a positive, solution-based approach

- Exceptional communication, inter-personal and organizational skills

- Physically able to lift and move product boxes and containers

- Competency in Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

- Vehicle for travel

- Bachelor’s Degree a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
