- 5+ years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience/Journeyman required.
- 3 + years of plumbing commercial and/or residential experience required.
- CSLB license preferred but not required.
- Licenses for plumbing, mechanical, and gas an asset.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specifications (structural, architectural, civil, plumbing, and cut sheets).
- Must be organized and maintain a clean work site.
- Able to work with a vast range of materials and know the proper installation of products listed below but not limited to:
- PVC DWV sch 40.
- CPVC sch 40 & 80.
- PEX.
- Uponor.
- Carriers for WC, EWC, Lav, and urinals.
- Hangers and supports Roof drains.
- Water heaters.
- Boilers.
- Set all types of fixtures for the finish.
- Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new construction setting.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
- Positive attitude.
Duties:
- Install new services on new houses.
- Locates and marks the position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob.
- Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools.
- Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
- Install plumbing finishing and equipment as per plans.
- Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work required and sequence of installations.
- Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from the installation of pipe.
- Calculate material take-off.
- Ordering materials as need be.
- Soldering of 2 1/2" + pipe.
