For a limited time, Partners in Development Foundation will be offering a recruitment bonus of up to $1000* subject to funding availability. Employee must be hired prior to 03/31/2023. (*Must meet eligibility requirements.)

Primary Purposes:

Conduct and organize adult and parent education classes and home visits, which provide comprehensive family education, health, outreach, and referral services.

Essential Duties:

Prepare for a High Quality Parent Education and Home Visiting Environment

· Develop and prepare the program-designed curriculum for participants using the program-approved standards;
· Complete and submit assignments in a timely and acceptable manner.

Provide a High Quality Parent Education and Home Visiting Environment

· Establish, preserve, and cultivate positive, professional relationships with program participants, colleagues, and community partners with respect and care;
· Provide a program-approved physical learning environment for participants;
· Provide opportunities and materials that foster learning of the program-approved curriculum.

Preserve and Cultivate a High Quality Parent Education, Home Visiting, and Program Environment

· Collaborate with leads and supervisors to create various trainings and events designed to promote family education attendance and learning;
· Engage with team to discuss issues and brainstorm solutions;
· Communicate progress, issues, and proposed solutions of site(s) with supervisor.

Other Duties:

Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentations such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

Work Hours:

· 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or as otherwise determined by management;
· Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
· Some events and professional development on nights or weekends at various times depending on the event or training.

Working Conditions:

· Designated program sites near or where participants reside, event sites, meeting and professional development sites;
· Office setting;
· Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites;
· Travel to the neighbor islands and the continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use:

May include use of: vehicles (company, personal), vehicle maintenance tools, electronics, prepping equipment, office equipment, site equipment, facility equipment.

Mental, Physical and Communication Demands:

Mental

· Consistent adherence to the practice of Partners in Development Foundation’s (PIDF) five core values that are used as a guiding force in the success of all of its programs;
· Be keenly aware of and attentive to program participants;
· Analyze and problem solve issues;
· Prioritize and focus on multiple tasks that require analysis and attention to detail;
· Cope with stress that may be induced by the situations of our clients.

Physical

· Participate in strenuous activities that may include loading and unloading vehicles; washing company vehicles, mats, and tarps; setting up and breaking down tents, etc.;
· Sit and work on the floor and in chairs; kneel and bend; lift and carry (up to 40 pounds regularly); climb stairs, etc.;
· Outdoors: exposure to sun, wind, dust, vog, animal dander, etc.;
· Indoors: exposure to normal office environments, A/C, fans, etc.

Communication

· Exhibit professional and respectful demeanor towards program participants, vendors and partners, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
· Use professional and respectful interpersonal and organizational skills;
· Maintain and handle highly confidential information.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Education

Have one of the following
· Associate’s degree in teaching, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Resources, or related field; or Child Development Associate (Infant/Toddler, Preschool, Family Child Care, or Home Visiting); or commensurate experience in related fields.

Experience
· At least two (2) years professional experience working with young children ages birth through five (5), parents, and adults in a teaching capacity;
· At least one (1) year professional experience with creating and carrying out lesson plans;
· At least one (1) year professional experience with early childhood assessment in a school setting;
· At least one (1) year professional experience conducting home visits;
· At least one (1) year working with homeless and at-risk families of Ka Pa‘alana’s host culture;
· Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (docs, calendar); proficient with email and internet researching.

Driving
· Access to a functional vehicle;
· Valid driver’s license;
· A safe and responsible driving record;
· Current no-fault insurance with at least $100k in bodily collision per person and $25k in property damage liability (operating personal vehicle for work purposes).
