The Plant Manager will lead the Mosinee location. As a key member of the operations leadership team, the Plant Manager and their team will have responsibility for occupational health and safety leadership, the manufacturing footprint and equipment platform recommendations to support the business strategy, the assessment of equipment and assets, capacity utilization to optimize the investments and to meet customer needs, capital expenditure recommendations to support the strategy, process excellence establishment across the site. The Plant Manager will need to drive major continuous improvement programs across the site to improve manufacturing performance. The Plant Manager should focus on ingraining the continuous improvement and operational excellence mindset into the team and culture of the operations.


About the Job


  • Must follow Ahlstrom-Munksjo’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Directs the Plant’s operations to ensure a safe, environmentally compliant, and cost effective operation consistent with principals of operational excellence (high quality, top quartile paper machine efficiency, benchmark service to customers).
  • Develop and execute all aspects of the site business plan.
  • Develop and implement specific short and long-term goals and actions for the plant, consistent with overall business unit and corporate policies and objectives.
  • Maintain good working conditions in the Plant through elimination of safety and health hazards, good housekeeping, and consistent application of Company Policies.
  • Build and sustain an effective organization through selection, development, compensation, and motivation of assigned personnel as well as develop managerial talents through counseling, training, etc.
  • Establish accountability and responsibilities throughout the operation.
  • Present Plant results and action plans to Senior and Corporate leadership on a routine basis.
  • Effectively deal with the intricacies of remote site management including community issues and any unique State of Wisconsin issues.

About You


  • BS in Pulp and Paper, Chemical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred such as MBA or MS.
  • More than 10+ years management experience in the paper industry.
  • Must have prior managerial control over a majority of the functional areas within a business unit.
  • Strong preference for an individual who has had site management responsibility.
