Medical Coder Job at JM Medi-Stat
Pay: $25.65/hour
Location: San Bernardino, CA
Duration: 3 - 4 months
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
We are looking for someone with CCS or CPC; andCDC (certified dental coder).
Experience: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience within the past five (5) years, coding outpatientstays/visits at a dental office, physician office, and at an ambulatory care clinic settings utilizing ICD-10-CM (International Coding of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System) and CDT (Current Dental Terminology) coding classifications.
Recent experience with dental office charts preferred.
The coder’s responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
- Abstract accurate diagnoses and procedural codes based on the coding resources above.
- Assign dental outpatient procedural codes in accordance to the ADA (American Dental Association) guidelines.
- Collaborate with Coding Lead and fiscal staff to process denials and validate audit reports
- Follow HIPAA privacy requirements for patient information, and protect confidential information
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass drug screening
- Must be able to provide verifiable past employment references
- Accuracy and attention to detail is critical
