We have a need for a Mechanical Engineer to support our Mission Technologies Division, which has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.
The Mechanical Engineer who will provide research, planning, design, development, testing, and evaluation to the Weapons Storage and Security System (WS3) Service Life Program (SLEP).
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Support research, planning, design, development, testing and evaluation of mechanical components, systems/subsystems, and products for defense systems.
- Assist with establishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.
- Analyze engineering issues through simulation and/or analysis to recommend component substitutions or redesign solutions.
- Provide support in maintaining and improving the design of existing mechanical components, systems/subsystems, and products including identifying, analyzing, and resolving obsolescence issues.
- Gather, compile, and maintain technical data such as test results, engineering design changes, engineering drawings, and engineering documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
- 5 years of experience designing, developing, building, analyzing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
Physical Requirements
- May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
