ARM Group is hiring for a Leadership Role for one of its client in the Great Charleson Area.

*Relocation provided for the right candidate*

Pay : $120,000-$135,000 (depending on the experience and skills)

The Maintenance Manager has management responsibility for coordination and implementation of all plant wide maintenance activities. This includes safety, quality, environmental, housekeeping, personnel management, and responsibility for developing and managing an annual operating budget of approximately $15 million. In addition, this individual is accountable for evaluating equipment performance, improving equipment reliability, and lowering maintenance costs. The position currently has direct management responsibility for :

  • two (2) salaried exempt Maintenance Leads; and
  • indirectly five (5) exempt salaried maintenance work center supervisors,
  • five (5) exempt salaried planners,
  • 58 non-exempt hourly technicians, and a non-exempt clerical tool crib attendant.

The Manager of Maintenance reports directly to the Site Director of Operations and is a member of the plant leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance and ethical application of Company and Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations, hazardous waste, and good housekeeping practices within audit standards.
  • Actively promote safe work practices. Support policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensure effective communication of and adherence by all department personnel to affect no lost time or recordable incidents or property damage.
  • Assist in the monitoring and analysis of general plant work activity and make recommendations as appropriate to help foster a safe work environment throughout the plant.
  • Adhere to and support client's environmental and Quality management systems. Provide managerial leadership in fostering environmental awareness and responsible environmental behavior, and general department adherence to quality and process guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and achievement of productivity improvements and cost reduction programs to support the company’s business plans and goals.
  • Monitor manpower allocations and efficiency and recommend appropriate staffing levels necessary to support Maintenance and Company strategies.
  • Establish job responsibilities and objectives, track and measure performance and provide feedback, and plan for the development of subordinates.
  • Conduct departmental performance reviews as per company guidelines.
  • Monitor department attendance for adherence to general guidelines.
  • Be familiar with client's Preparedness, Prevention, and Contingency Plan and ready to fulfill specific responsibilities assigned in the plan.
  • Maintain open and effective lines of communication with other managers to foster excellent overall plant performance.
  • Develop and continuously improve knowledge of the S4 HANA system and capitalize on its potential as a business tool.
  • Evaluate process upsets and or emergencies and make recommendations consistent with minimizing production loss.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of programs, procedures, and techniques to continuously improve our production capacity and capability.
  • Participate as needed in cross functional investigation of incidents occurring in the plant to assist in the development of measures to avoid further occurrences.
  • Provide leadership and management assistance to peers and subordinates in the performance of their duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ME or EE preferred), Technical, Business Management, or Physical Sciences is required
  • Proven record of accomplishment in People leadership
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Critical thinking; Observational skills; Technical capacity, Problem solving/analysis
  • Comparable working experience: 3 years heavy industrial environment as a Maintenance Manager or Director, or 5 years as a Superintendent.
  • Related working experience: 5 years in a Maintenance management position including Elect/Mech. Maintenance Supervisor or 3-5 years as a Planner/Scheduler, CMMS Administrator, Reliability Engineer, Team Lead, or PDM Team Supervisor.
  • Preferred heavy industry experience: Chemical process, steel, cement, paper or related industry, or military officer in planning/equipment maintenance field.
  • Professional certification: Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), CPE/PE is desired but not required.
  • Skills & training: Basic PC skills – Microsoft 0365, Word, Excel, Power Point, Root Cause Failure Analysis Training, Reliability Based Maintenance Training, Machine Lubrication Training, Precision Alignment & Balancing Training
  • Hands-on experience managing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and the application of predictive maintenance technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis, and Lean Manufacturing Training and/or Six Sigma Certification.
