Overview:
Job Title: Manager, Loss Prevention
Reports to: VP Global Distribution & Logistics
Purpose: This position mitigates the company's exposure to loss by managing loss prevention programs for all PACSUN subsidiaries as designated, with an emphasis on DC physical security and C-TPAT compliance which includes in-house security staff, contract security services, and corporate facility management in Groveport, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
Core Accountabilities:

Loss Reduction Programs

  • Develop, evaluate and implement loss control programs, policies and procedures to mitigate risk of internal and external theft and fraud.
  • Act as the Loss Prevention business expert identifying needs and contributing to development of new Loss Prevention programs or controls.
  • Deliver Loss Prevention technical services regarding general loss related to associate and customer theft and fraud.
  • Conduct investigations using company systems, exception reporting and within established company policies and procedures, document conclusions and partner with Human Resources for resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Provide physical security expertise with consideration to technology and cost effectiveness relative to loss control.
  • Stay current with Loss Prevention techniques and technologies and network/benchmark with other Loss Prevention professionals.
  • Conduct background checks using supplied vendors and other outside sources.

Life, Safety & Security Programs

Manage the operational execution of the Distribution Center and Call Center security and life-safety programs.

  • Manage the Loss Prevention Security staff including LP Associates and an outsourced security workforce – ensure proper training, background checks and staffing
  • Provide investigations of policy violations and physical safety backup for Human Resources in employment matters and terminations
  • Manage physical security systems for the Distribution Centers including access control, intrusion and camera systems. Serve as the Distribution Center expert in these areas of technology.
  • Manage Workplace Violence assessments and related management training programs.
  • Manage safety programs within company standards and meeting regulatory compliance, including new hire Safety Training Programs, the Distribution Center Safety Committee, investigating reports of potential safety concerns and accident investigations.
  • Initiate and monitor internal and external incidents and provide rapid response, investigation and reporting of all emergencies.
  • Manage safety and security programs, inspections, drills and tests to detect potential risks and develop appropriate corrections or mitigation plan.
  • Manage the assessment of potentially contaminated receipts for health threats (mold, chemical exposure, etc) under established company procedures
  • Act as subject matter expert on physical security equipment and work with outside vendors on updating or repair of equipment.
C-TPAT and FTZ Programs

Serve as the facility US Custom's C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism) Program liaison with the Company C-TPAT Officer managing our programs, practices and procedures that maintain our Tier 3 Certification. Serve as facility point of contact for transmission of information related to FTZ seal discrepancies to Imports Department and Corporation Loss Prevention.

  • Understand core requirements and purpose for C-TPAT and FTZ programs
  • Ensure all training, audits and related documentation for compliance are timely completed as required.
  • Investigate all broken seals and potential compromised containers to determine possible points of compromise and report investigative findings per established procedures to Company C-TPAT Officer and Imports Department and FTZ officer.
  • Enforce all CTPAT and FTZ quarantine and inspection policies
  • Manage the assessment of contaminated goods under established company procedures.
  • Conduct transportation yard visits, inspections and audits as needed to confirm compliance requirements are in place.
  • Work with the Company C-TPAT Officer to conduct an annual program review and update.

Communication & Time Management

  • Maintain active and effective communications with all business partners to identify and implement appropriate training; reinforce critical control best practices; and report potential loss.
  • Actively respond to phone calls, voice mail and email communications daily.
  • Participate in business team meetings, conferences and training opportunities.
  • Return all calls & emails within 24 hours and maintain a business calendar on Outlook.
  • Prepare a weekly update with supervisor.
  • Travel Requirement – 10%

Qualifications:
Education/Experience Required:
  • 7 plus years of DC experience or large retail environment in Loss Prevention Management and personnel management.
  • Experience in interviewing/interrogation techniques (CFI preferred)
  • Certified Protection Profession (CPP preferred)
  • C-TPAT program experience a plus
  • College degree or business equivalent preferred
  • Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, hold valid driver license, hold valid Passport or be able to obtain
  • Proficient with Windows Desktop Applications
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications
  • Experience with DC physical security needs and equipment
  • Ability to conduct on-site interviews and interrogations having been certified through Wicklander-Zulawski.

  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
  • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel Required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. As an International Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role may operate in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. This role may also operate in a warehouse environment subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. This role may also be subject to loud noise due to conveyor systems and material handling equipment and routinely uses standard personal protective equipment.
