Job Summary:

The Loan Review Examiner performs regular loan portfolio reviews based on risk and size of credit types. Ensures the creditworthiness of the loan portfolio by reviewing the quality, completeness and accuracy of supporting loan documentation and analysis. In addition, the Loan Review Examiner reviews loan policy for adequacy, assesses problem loan management/workout plan effectiveness and provides assistance and consultation to loan officers and other lending personnel. Prepares detailed executive summaries of each review with supporting analysis. Additionally, the examiner will be responsible for developing and managing targeted exams, including scoping the exam, reviewing work papers from other examiners, and writing a report for executive management. The Loan Review Examiner will also seek out continuous improvement to related bank processes and aide in the training and development of junior loan examiners.

Essential Functions:

  • COMMERCIAL experience is a must. MORTGAGE experience is not applicable.
  • Performs regular loan portfolio reviews based on risk and/or size of all credit types (Commercial Real Estate, C&I, Equipment, Small Business Administration, Participations, etc.).
  • Ensures the creditworthiness of the loan portfolio, looks for changes that merit a review of lending practices and/or adverse asset classification.
  • Assess Risk Ratings for credits within the portfolio.
  • Develop, scope, manage, and write report for executive management for targeted exams for the loan portfolio.
  • Reviews bank processes (loan approvals, policy exemption reporting, supervisory loan to value limits, underwriting, covenants, internal controls, concentration reporting, etc.).
  • Verifies quality, completeness and accuracy of supporting loan documentation and analysis.
  • Reviews loan policy for adequacy.
  • Assesses problem loan management / workout plan effectiveness.
  • Provides assistance and consultation to loan officers, other lending personnel (loan administration, lending assistants, etc.), auditors and regulatory examiners.
  • Prepares an executive summary of each review and supporting analysis.
  • Participates in special lending-related projects as directed.
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required. Strong preference for Finance or Accounting major or concentration, but actual work experience can offset a different degree type.
  • 5 - 7 years of related experience in commercial financial analysis, credit review, lending, or regulatory experience required.
  • Commercial Lending Front Line Experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems.
  • Ability to create and present sophisticated reports and findings for upper-level management.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, accountability, and attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
