SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service in all aspects of the role throughout the organization.

• receive all incoming shipments for the Independent Sales team; stock, MTO, and Special Orders.
• ensure that all Customer and Salespeople shipments are promptly and accurately pulled.
• conduct Inventory Cycle counts for all locations within the responsibilities of the job description
• respond to the needs and demands for both internal and external customers.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and check in all incoming merchandise shipments. Verify quantities ordered and confirm pricing on Purchase order and Invoice. Periodic Jewelry quality checks required and confirm merchandise is correctly tagged for stock
• Communicate with Domestic Vendors and International Factories via e-mail regarding shipments – Important Must Have Talent: to be able to clearly communicate quality & inventory related issues with regards to Jewelry merchandise
• Address pricing discrepancies and any shortages directly with SDC Operations, Vendors and Factory
• Pull and process Customer Orders with close attention to detail and accuracy; a Must Have requirement
• Create Assembly/Job orders for outside repair facility, keep accurate account of work, review merchandise return for completion and quality of job.
• Monitor Supply needs for Customer orders
• Responsible for National Sales Force Sample Lines. Inventories, tagging, padding, sample returns
• Run reports for National Sales Force delivery merchandise for replenishment
• Respond to Sales staff calls or e-mail needs for their sample line- communicate directly with Sales Staff, follow up on shipments with sales team
• Prepare merchandise, currently, for 6 Trade shows each year- check and receive
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, organizing and selecting items for customer orders
• Conduct Inventory Cycle and Physical counts for all responsible locations within the office and to be responsible for resolving discrepancies
• Give recommendations of slow moving inventory
• Ability to adapt to change finding the best value solution for both internal and external customers
• To work independently or with team
• Independent thinking for redirecting priorities as needed based on deadlines
• Strong and open communication skills to SDC operations regarding ideas for improved processes and problem solving.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:

This position does not supervise others

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Preferred minimum of three (3) years related experience

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

• High School diploma
• Some college preferred

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:

• Read, write and understand the English language
• Must be able to use MS office suite, Proficiency in Word & Excel spreadsheets is essential.
• Jewelry Knowledge is strongly desired
• Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong ability to multitask
• Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to present information to upper management
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
• Must be able to pass a background check

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Limited travel to industry trade shows to support company efforts is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.12 per hour
