We are seeking an HR Manager to work in partnership with our client’s managers and employees in Washington State. Applicants must be willing to relocate to the vicinity of the company to be considered – relocation assistance is available.
The Human Resources Manager will provide guidance and serve as the subject matter expert at the site level for all HR-related matters ensuring that programs, policies, and procedures support the overall business objectives in the areas of staffing, safety, employee relations, conflict resolution, union relations, talent management, training and development, employee relations and engagement, compensation and benefits.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Foster a ‘trusted advisor’ relationship with Managers, Supervisors, and team members, establishing strong working relationships throughout the company with a customer service-oriented philosophy so that personnel seek out HR for help in working through organizational and people opportunities and have confidence in HR’s ability to deliver high quality and efficient solutions.
- Administer team member records program such as personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), benefits administration (enrollments, status changes) and team member statistics (hires, terminations, etc.).
- Quickly build effective working relationships centered on trust by way of practical and strategic guidance across functions and teams both salaried and hourly.
- Establish and maintain effective and supportive business relations with the plant manager and staff to ensure business strategies, goals, and results are achieved.
- Align HR goals to site business goals, track & monitor the progress.
- Coordinates with plant management to recruit, identify, and select candidates to fill vacant positions to ensure optimal staffing is achieved.
- Provide input and tools to support succession planning, key employee retention, and high potential employee development.
- Conducts onboarding for new employees as well as off-boarding for employees leaving the organization.
- Coordinates with the Safety Department to ensure that the plant environment satisfies health and safety standards and requirements and participates in safety committee meetings, accident investigations, workers compensation claim management.
- Coordinates and conducts training for plant management, supervisors, and employees in workplace policies and professional development to include but not limited to workplace harassment, health and safety, company policies, supervisory skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, and effective group interaction skills.
- Directs and monitors compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and legal regulations by applying knowledge of company policies and Federal and State laws and regulations.
The Experience You Will Bring
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of human resources experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
- Union Relations
- Bilingual English & Spanish is a PLUS!!
- Extensive experience in human resources generalist roles with a proven track record in leading HR teams.
- Team management/leadership/development skills. Successful in building and mentoring high-performance teams committed to quality and promoting a spirit of teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting a non-union facility.
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Experience with OSHA, OSHA 300 logs as well as Worker's Compensation
- Experience in leave management (FMLA, ADA, PDL, CFRA and SDI)
- Proven experience in HRIS system
