Summary
Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to respond to emergencies and treat employees that have been injured or are ill due to work-related or personal. This position will also work closely with other departments to promote adherence to medical and safety protocols. The schedule for this hourly third shift position is Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays, 11:00pm-7:30am.
Responsibilities
- Provide preventative and emergency medical care to injured or ill persons
- Ensure personal well-being
- Understand basic medical / legal principles
- Prepare documentation and reports, and maintains records
- Complete probable cause or post-accident assessment of employee
- Ensure OSHA, Workers Compensation and other medically necessary compliance
- Function within the scope of medical care as defined protocol and state, regional, and local regulatory agencies
- Maintain confidential information
- Assist with incident investigations and required documentation
- Perform other duties as needed or required
- Lead emergency medical team when called to the production floor or other facility areas
- Perform other duties as needed or required
Qualifications
- EMT or Paramedic certification, or current Indiana LPN license
- Minimum of 1 years' experience as an EMT, Paramedic or licensed LPN
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours to provide support while working occasional overtime, including weekends
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments
- Uphold company policies and ethical standards
- Ability to work well with people at all levels
- Commitment to follow safety policies and practices
