Scope of Position: This individual will be responsible for administrative support activities within the customer support function for Corning Life Sciences. This position will attend to all questions and inquiries in a highly professional manner to effectively convey information internally and externally while assuring that our goal of world-class customer service is met. You will perform the full scope of customer service tasks to include problem solving, trouble shooting, negotiating, and cultivating excellent relationships with customers and co-workers. It will be expected that you will have a full understanding of department and company procedures and policies and the ability to promote Corning Life Sciences image in a positive manner and to led by example. In addition, the position interacts with internal customers across a variety of functions, such as accounting, quality assurance, Logistics Supply/Demand planning, and commercial when and where needed.
Duties and Essential Functions:
- Interact daily with internal/external contacts using multiple systems to ensure accurate information
- Dedicatedly initiate corrective actions to handle customer accommodations independently by using good judgment in routine cases
- Assist with complaints processed by the Complaint team
- Act as warehouse intermediary with customer care for approvals to short ship, etc.
- Interact daily with several other functions of the company, such as inventory, sales, warehouse & distribution
- Participate in NA Hub quarterly audits
- Responsible for ensuring 100% follow-up to customers internally and externally
- Ensures correct shipping method entered on orders as needed (air shipments)
- Assists on special projects as needed
Other Functions and Responsibilites:
- Process/Systems Understanding and Improvement
- Maintains a current understanding of the PS and Scale operating interfaces processes and knows who to approach for help resolving customer requests

Desired Education and Years and Area of Experience:
- Associates degree and a 2+ years of customer service experience desired.
Preferred:
- 1-3 years’ work experience with business management software / systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Scale, SAP, Oracle)
- Work experience in an international multi-cultural organization
Travel Requirements: Limited to none
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime: Monday through Friday, 8 hour/day between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
